Our Tips to Visiting the Rams Training Camp at UCI

Did you know that the Los Angeles Rams training camp is free and open to the public? Located at University of California, Irvine until August 10th they have daily giveaways and autograph opportunities with Rams legends. The we visited, it was the 2nd day of training camp and our family had a great time watching practice and exploring the family zone. The giveaway when we visited was a Rams Jersey rally towel and it’s so cute! The daily giveaway items are listed HERE

The Family zone has free face painting, balloon artist, and activities for the kids, and a prize wheel with a chance to win a autograph session after the training camp. Make sure to go to the Prize Wheel first as there are a limited number of autograph sessions available.

There is plenty of shaded seating available to watch the players practice. There is no commentary or audio although there are a couple of screens on the field to watch an overhead view of the practice. We sat near the Beer Garden which was a great place to watch the practice. The kids were so excited to see Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, Sean McVay and every practice.

We were so lucky to get an autograph wristband and the players doing the autographs signing at the end of training were quarterbacks and tight ends. Kids ages 5 to 14 years old with the wristbands were allowed in a line where all the players were lined up to sign 1 item. Parents were not allowed to stand with them but could follow along the outside of the line to get pictures. Posed pictures were not allowed. The boys were so excited to get autographs from Matthew Stafford’s, Tyler Higbee, Kendall Blandford and John Wolford. It was definitely a once in a lifetime amazing experience! Some tips before you go:

To Get Autographs:

  • Get there early as there is a tent for a Rams Legend to sign autographs and take 1 picture with fans. Check out the autograph schedule of Rams players and which Rams legend will be signing HERE
  • To enter the Family Zone, you have to fill out a liability waiver. If you have more than 1 adult attending, have 1 person fill out the waiver for all the kids. Every person will get a Family Zone wristband that will me marked off once the kids spin the Prize Wheel. We didn’t win at first and had another adult fill out the waiver for all the kids to try again.
  • Fans must have an Autograph Rams wristband in order to enter the autograph line. Wristbands can be won at the Prize Wheel in the Family Zone. Autographs are for children between the ages of 5 and 14 only. We were told there’s only a limited number of autograph wristbands so go first to the family zone to spin the prize wheel for a chance to win.
  • If you don’t win an autograph wristband, some players do stick around after to sign autographs after the training camp. People are waiting along the games for players but it is luck of the draw on where the players sign

Things to Bring and More Tips

  • You can bring your own football to sign although they sell footballs and merchandise there. Remember to bring your own sharpie too!
  • No food, drinks, or even unopened water bottles are allowed to be brought in. We were able to drink our water while waiting to enter but then had to throw our plastic water bottle away. There are concessions stands and food trucks for food to purchase. Lines were food trucks were shortest once practice started.
  • Get there early and be patient as lines can get long for merchandise, photo opportunities, food trucks, bathrooms etc. I brought activity books for my little one to keep occupied while we were waiting
